Sukima

Privacy policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Sukima is made by Bibu Workshop. It is an unofficial companion for Anki and is not made by the Anki project.

The short version

Bibu Workshop does not collect your data. Sukima has no server and no account of its own, uses no analytics or advertising, and never asks for your AnkiWeb password. Your cards and answers move only between your Mac, your Apple Watch and your own iCloud.

What Sukima uses

To let you study on your watch, Sukima uses:

It does not use images, audio or video from your cards, and it does not read your name, email, contacts or location.

Where it is kept

Bibu Workshop cannot see your iCloud data and receives no copy of it.

Anki and AnkiWeb

Sukima saves your answers into Anki on your Mac, through Anki itself. It never connects to AnkiWeb. If you sync Anki with AnkiWeb, Anki does that as it always has, under AnkiWeb's own terms.

How long it is kept

The cards on your watch are replaced each time you sync. Your answers are removed from iCloud once they have reached your Mac. Transfer records leave iCloud after 14 days and stay on your Mac.

Deleting your data

Remove the add-on in Anki, quit and delete Sukima on your Mac, and delete the app from your watch. To remove Sukima's data from iCloud, use the iCloud storage settings of your Apple Account.

Before deleting Sukima's iCloud data, open Anki on your Mac and let it sync with your watch. Answers that have not yet reached Anki are lost if you delete them from iCloud.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may send Bibu Workshop crash reports. You can turn this off in your device's privacy settings.

Children

Sukima does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
