Before you write
Most questions are answered in the setup guide, and in the quick answers below.
Reporting a problem
Please include:
- your Mac's macOS version and your watch's watchOS version;
- your Anki version (Help › About in Anki);
- the Sukima version on your Mac and on your watch;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened;
- if it is about syncing, a screenshot of Sync History… from Sukima's menu.
Please do not send your Anki collection or card text unless we ask, and only if you are happy to. Sukima's logs hold card numbers and counts, not card text.
If you think answers were lost or saved twice, say so in the subject line. We treat that first. Anki keeps automatic backups of your collection; to restore one, choose File › Switch Profile › Open Backup in Anki. Changes made after that backup are lost, so restore only if something went wrong.
Quick answers
Why are some cards not on my watch?
Sukima sends only due review cards from the deck you chose, up to 60 at a time, within that deck's daily limit. New cards and cards still in learning stay in Anki. Cards Sukima cannot show well on a small screen are left in Anki, untouched and still due: cards with images, audio or video, maths, tables, type-in answers, image occlusion, or a side longer than 2,000 characters.
When do my answers reach Anki?
When you sync on your Mac. Until then they are kept safely on your watch or in your iCloud.
Does Sukima need my AnkiWeb password?
No, never. Sukima does not connect to AnkiWeb. Anki syncs with AnkiWeb itself, as it always has.
Can I use two Macs?
Not yet. Use Sukima on one Mac per Apple Account. You can use more than one watch.
Is it on the App Store in Japan?
Not in this version.
Known issues
- Answers reach Anki only when you sync on your Mac.
- Some card types are not shown on the watch (see above).
- Deleting Sukima's data from iCloud loses answers that have not yet reached Anki. Sync on your Mac first.
